Gecko families:
State testing for grades 3rd - 6th starts next week, and this is an important time for our students to show all the amazing learning and growth they’ve accomplished this year! We are so proud of how hard they’ve worked!
To help your child do their very best, here are a few very important reminders:
Be at school every day and ON TIME.
Testing will begin promptly each morning. Arriving late can cause unnecessary stress for students and may require make-up testing. A calm, on-time start makes a big difference!
Eat a balanced breakfast.
A healthy breakfast with protein, whole grains, and fruit helps with focus, memory, and stamina. Testing takes concentration, and fuel for the brain is key!
Pack smart snacks.
Nutritious snacks like granola bars, fruit, cheese sticks, or crackers can help students stay energized and focused throughout the morning.
Get plenty of sleep.
A well-rested brain performs so much better!
We believe in our students and know they are ready to do great things. With your support at home and their hard work at school, we are confident this testing season will be a success!
Let’s cheer them on and help them feel confident and prepared!

Dear TVES Parents and Guardians,
We are writing to give you advance notice about a planned lockdown drill that will take place tomorrow morning (2/24).
This is a scheduled, procedural exercise designed to practice and evaluate our emergency response protocols, including the use of our emergency response system to secure the school buildings.
Please know that this is only a drill. We are conducting it in close partnership with the Pima County Sheriff's Department to ensure the most efficient and effective safety practices are in place.
During the exercise, students may see unfamiliar messages appear on classroom computer screens and hear a lock down announcement over the intercom. We wanted to communicate this in advance so you can be reassured that these are expected, planned elements of our safety practice.
Thank you for your understanding as we work to maintain the highest level of safety for all students and staff.
Sincerely,
Emma Batty and Julie Laird

We have such amazing and helpful neighbors living near the school. Sadly, we have had reports of some landscape damage that occurred on a nearby property during one of our busy traffic times. Please assist us in respecting them by not parking on their properties and driving with care through the neighborhood.
We would love to continue our positive relationship with all of those around us.
